Impact OASIS is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote inclusion and acceptance of autistic individuals into their local communities by establishing farm centers that provide meaningful work, peaceful and healthy residences and community interaction. We have been granted a ground lease, from the township of Middletown, on a portion of a 15 acre farm tract at Stevenson’s Park, Middletown. OASIS has agreed that this area is to be used for farming, gardening and horticultural purposes as part of our education, training and assistance programs for autistic individuals.
For the past three years we farmed about two acres of land at Stevenson’s Park. We harvested flowers, lettuce, green beans, soy beans, snap peas, tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, potatoes, onions, squash and herbs. Peer buddies were provided through church organizations, local high schools and local families.
We can use your help as a peer buddy for spring planting, spring/ summer weeding, summer/fall harvesting. Please Contact Liz O’Mara or Barbara D’Augusta at impactoasis@gmail.com if interested in volunteering. Thank you!
